Rift Supremacy Guide Review

It’s frustrating and no fun if you are running around with no idea what to do, slowly leveling while your friends surpass you with their high leveled gear and riches. What am I getting with Rift Supremacy?
First off, Rift Supremacy is the real deal. I love how you get both a written guide with maps/screenshots, and an HD video step-by-step walkthrough with tons of useful information that you see first-hand. The written copy and HD videos are extremely detailed and can be copied exactly with the exact same results – a mighty level 50 character with an amazing build and great gear.
Rift Supremacy Video Walkthrough Review
I’ll go over the HD video walkthroughs first and move onto to written section in a bit. This part absolutely blew me away. If the guide came with just the videos I would still be extremely happy. The guide’s website says that the videos cover EVERY aspect of the game, but everyone knows it is impossible to cover EVERY aspect. It does, however, come extremely close to EVERY aspect.
The videos are playable on both PC and Mac, so you don’t have to worry about which computer you are using. PC uses Windows Media Player or Quicktime and Mac can use Quicktime. For me, on my computer, none of the videos were laggy or slow, but the speed may depend on your computer software.
There are really three main parts of the video guides: The Leveling Guide, The Rifts and Invasions Guide, and The Rift Builds Guide.
In each of the separate sections he talks about everything he does while the video is playing, so if you have your volume turned up you can learn a little more. Don’t worry though, the volume isn’t needed. I played through this guide the second time without the volume up and I didn’t really notice a difference. One thing that I did like about having the sound on was being able to have it play in the background and listening while you complete quests and run around. Playing the video in the background might work better for more advanced players because they will probably know more of the names of people and cities than someone who just started playing.
I’ll go over everybody’s favorite first, the Leveling Guide. The leveling portion really focuses on detail and allows you to watch the video and then copy exactly what he does in the video. He includes both the Guardian and Defiant walkthroughs in his video leveling guide. Personally, I have tried each side at least twice so far, each with a different calling, and I have been extremely satisfied with how quickly it has taken me to get to from 1 to 50. If I had to pick which side had the better guide, I would have to go Guardian, just because I am bias towards them. Don’t get me wrong the Defiants do have a strong guide that will level you just as quickly as the Guardians, but I just don’t like playing as a Defiant. The callings really didn’t matter as far as quickness to level goes either, which I found kind of surprising. I am probably the weakest at playing a rogue, yet I leveled second fastest with a rogue. Each calling completed the guide within an hour or so of each other.
Most of the time he will open the map up and point out where specific quests or items are located so that you won’t be running around like a chicken with your head cut off if you aren’t familiar with a certain area. He shows/tells you which are the best quests to take, items to grab, rewards to pick, and which quests are just a waste of your time.
Sometimes the video will be sped up, like when he is walking to a certain place, or when tackling a quest in which you need to kill 10 or whatever mobs. Basically, if something is repetitive, he will speed it up after a few minutes to save you some time. I liked this a lot because he can do what you can do in 10-15 minutes in 3 minutes of video.
The only minor setback to the video leveling guide is that you have to keep leaving the game to watch the next part. What I usually, and I’ve found out this works nicely is, I memorize what he does in about 2-3 minutes, so that I don’t have to keep leaving the game to watch the videos. I only leave the game to watch the next few minutes, or if I get confused at a certain part. Of course, this is only a minor setback. You will still level faster than you have before.
The Rift video leveling guides he includes in Rift Supremacy are very close to flawless, in my opinion. These videos will absolutely crush the Xerxes guide in simplicity, swiftness, and information provided. Of course, the Xerxes guide is a written guide, so that’s like comparing apples and oranges. We will compare the written parts in a minute.
The next section I’ll go over is the Rifts and Invasions Guide. This is a small section of video that teaches you how to dominate Rifts and Invasions. These are super fun aspects of the game, but some Rifts or Invasions can be extremely challenging. They can also be used to level very quickly and are nice breaks from doing quests. This section will give you a few strategies that you can use to increase your skill, so that you don’t end up looking like road kill.
The last section of the video guide is the Rift Builds Guide. This section taught me a lot about the different builds for different callings. There are a bunch of different builds for each calling and these videos go over them really well. Some of the builds are used for leveling, some of them are used for damage and healing, and some of them are PvP and Raiding builds. I’m always playing PvP, so I didn’t learn much here, but I was extremely pleased with the raiding builds because I really never go on raids. I tried a few of the builds out and felt like a raiding master.
The way he goes about teaching you about the Rift Build videos is he tells you which level you should be before you put the point in. You can pause the video until you reach the next level, so you can put the next point in. If it gets confusing, you can just check out the written Rift Builds Guide. They are the same thing.
They even give you a little sneak peak on the guide’s website, so that you can see how the videos work. One of them is an Assassin build and the other is a snippet of the Guardian leveling guide. He also gives you a pretty good look at one of the characters he recently made using his guide. You even get to see his rare mount, Swift Copper Armored Warhorse.

Rift Supremacy Written Guide
Personally, I prefer the HD video guides over the written guides, but I did use this at certain points. The written guide comes with a ton of different information on Rift. Most of which you can find out if you use the videos, but sometimes it may be easier for you to follow along with the written section.
The leveling guide is jammed pack full of Defiant and Guardian leveling information and color screenshots and maps. There is a map on almost every page and they point out exactly which quests to take, where they are located, and when to complete them. By “when to complete them” I mean that the guide will sometimes tell you to hold a completed quest until you finish others. That way you aren’t wasting time running back and forth between areas wasting your valuable time. I was impressed with the organization of the written guides. I know some guides have trouble keeping everything organized, which sucks because a newbie is already confused, you don’t want to confuse them more.
Rift is a massive game so naturally there are a lot of different ways to do something. This section of Rift Supremacy easily takes care of that. This guide was so easy to read for both Defiants and Guardians, that anyone, even newbies, can follow along with it perfectly. To make it even easier to follow, if I was using the written section of the guide I would play in window mode, so that I could easily go back and forth between the two.
Also included in the written section is the Rift Builds Guide. These are literally the ultimate builds for each calling. You will be extremely happy whether you leveling, raiding, or PvPing. I was really pleased with the endgame builds that came with the guide. I use my own custom PvP build, but I tried a few of the ones in the guide out and they worked pretty well. Having the right build is pretty important when making a high leveled character. The builds are the same in the videos as they are in the written section, so if you are confused about anything you read or see, you can use the other build guide as a reinforcement.
I would say the written part of Rift Supremacy was just as good as the written part of the Xerxes guide in terms of usability, organization, and detail. Both of the guides included about the same things, with small unnoticeable differences here and there. I would have to say that I liked the organization of builds better in Rift Supremacy. It just seemed a little easier to follow.
Another, yes another, great thing about this product is that you get unlimited free updates. If in the future, there are expansions or changes to Rift, he will update his guide to the newest version absolutely free.
How does this guide compare to other top Rift leveling guides?
I actually wanted to know this myself, so I tested it against the Xerxes Rift Mastery Guide. My brother, Zach, and I both started Guardian Warriors on the same day, same PvP server, at the same time, each using a different guide. I started out using the guide that I had been using since launch, which was Xerxes Rift Mastery Guide because he wanted to try out the new guide, Rift Supremacy. To make sure that we would be playing the same times we played in the same room, and logged on and off when the other logged on or off. We made it a rule that we needed to have the same played time, plus or minus 5 minutes.
We started leveling at the same rate basically because I’ve been following Xerxes guide for so many different characters, so I kind of knew it by heart, plus I’m amazing as a Warrior. After about level 12 he started pulling away from me. It was weird because I was doing a few quests and all the sudden he was level 14. The worst part was he took the time to watch the videos the guide came with, while I continued to quest, plus he only has seven characters at level 50. I have 14 level 50 characters! I had my screen in window mode, so I could check my guide much faster. I ended up being level 17 after the first day and he ended up being level 20.
The next few days we got to work on our characters. I was getting annoyed by the level difference between our two newly made characters, but I was still determined to catch up and prove that Xerxes was still the best Rift leveling guide. However, he was leveling faster than ever, and I was falling further and further behind. We was inching closer and closer to 50 and I was getting pressured to increase my level. As soon as he hit 48 I knew there was no competition. I was only level 40 and knew he was not going to be slipping up any time before 50. He finally reached 50 in under a week of our competition. We didn’t sit there and play for 24 hours every day either; we took breaks, went out, and continued our social life uninterrupted. He just had to make time for that precious girlfriend of his.
After our experiment, I thought that maybe he was just a smarter player than me, even though he has less level 50 characters than I do and hasn’t been playing as long. So, I asked him if he was down for another competition, this time I got to use the new Rift Supremacy Guide and he stuck with the old Xerxes Mastery Guide. He told me no matter what I used I could never beat him, and it was on! We started Guardian Warriors again to make sure that the experiment was the same and stuck with the same rules as before, neither of us could play while the other was on.
This time we didn’t start leveling at the same rate and I was destroying him from the start. I had no competition while leveling this new Warrior and reached level 50 before he was even 40. I thought that this guide was the most amazing guide that I had ever followed. I have tons of high leveled Warriors and yet I learned some new, more improved builds than I have been using with my previous Warriors. I was stunned at the awesomeness of the HD video step-by-step walkthroughs. I leveled extremely fast and I took time to watch the videos. My brother did the exact same thing, so imagine how fast we would have leveled if we didn’t take our time to watch the videos and just played in windowed mode and read the written guide!
I still wasn’t done experimenting with this guide. I have been faithful to the Xerxes Mastery Guide since the launch of Rift and I could not be swayed so easily. Xerxes guide is really newb-friendly, which was how I learned to be so good at Rift. It was also one of the best things about it, so I wanted to see if Rift Supremacy was just as newb-friendly, or even newb-friendlier. I grabbed my other little brother, Austin, who is only 13 years old and extremely impatient when it comes to playing video games. He will get extremely bored fast if he isn’t winning or constantly making progress. He had never played Rift before because he is too obsessed with Runescape to play a real MMORPG, which if you are impatient I don’t understand how you can play so much Runescape. That game bores the hell out of me. He didn’t want to try it, but I finally convinced him into the experiment.
He started a rogue because he thought they looked awesome and to my surprise he figured the game out fairly quickly using the guide. In just one day he was level 17, the same level I was when I was using Xerxes guide. We played for around the same amount of time too. About a week and a half after he started his rogue he was a 50. He also had a pretty good build and was doing extremely good in PvP. I believe with this experiment I did two things: 1) Proved that the Rift Supremacy was extremely newb-friendly, and 2) Converted my brother from a little kids MMORPG to an awesome MMORPG.
So, those are my experiments for the Rift Supremacy guide, and I believe I really put it to the test. As I compared it with the Xerxes Guide, Rift Supremacy really showed me the remarkable potential that it has to both advanced and beginner players. Even I learned some new skills, even after leveling up 14 different characters. And I thought I knew everything about Rift! I have now have switched over from Xerxes Mastery Guide to the Rift Supremacy Leveling Guide.
R.I.P Xerxes Mastery Guide.
